Busy mornings call for breakfasts that are quick and also filling. These simple, kid-friendly breakfast ideas perfectly balance taste and nutrition in every bite, making sure they begin the day energetic without fussing about it.
Grate some beetroot and mix it into the dosa batter to give these mini uttapams a natural pink colour that kids will enjoy. They will turn soft with crisp edges, while giving a boost of iron without altering the familiar taste too much.
This is the easiest way to blend spinach without it getting noticed. Just blend it with some hint of garlic and a little cheese to make a light pesto. Spread this on the bread and toast it lightly. It tastes creamy and cheesy in every bite.
Spread the peanut butter on the whole wheat bread, place sliced bananas, roll it up tightly, and then slice into rolls. It feels soft, a bit sweet, and feels like a treat, but it gives protein and energy.
Cook the oats with some grated carrot, milk, and a hint of cinnamon. It feels like dessert but works perfectly as a breakfast, quietly adding fibre and natural sweetness that kids will fondly love.
Mix the millet flour with some sweet corn, a bit of cheese, and light spices to make a lump-free and smooth batter. Cook this to make soft cheelas. The sweetness of corn perfectly goes with the goodness of millets, making it more appealing.
Spread cheese on a roti and add sautéed veggies such as capsicum, corn, and carrot, which kids usually fuss about. Roll it up to make a wrap. It feels soft, full of texture, and looks visually appealing, making vegetables feel less boring and easier for kids to eat.
