A tasty ground meat gravy filling is topped with crispy, creamy mashed potatoes and baked until golden perfection. This is a very easy recipe that you can make for family dinners!
3 cups of ground meat 2 tbsp olive oil 1 cup onions, chopped Butter, as needed 3 tbsp all-purpose flour 1.5 cups of meat broth 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 cup of frozen peas 1 cup of carrots Salt and pepper, to taste 3 cups of mashed potatoes 1 cup of cheddar cheese
Heat olive oil in a pan. Add the chopped onion to a pan. Sauté until tender and golden.
Add in the ground meat. Sauté until brownish. Add butter and let it melt.
Sprinkle all-purpose flour. Stir it in. Cook until the raw taste vanishes.
Pour in the meat broth. Add Worcestershire sauce. Add peas and carrots. Bring it to a simmer. Remove from heat.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Lay the cooked meat on a baking sheet on the tray.
Spread mashed potatoes on top evenly. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Rest the cottage pie for 5 minutes before serving a piece.
