A guilt-free dessert recipe that is made using two primary ingredients—apple juice and gelatin powder—these flavoured marshmallows are a delicious sweet fix to have on hand during the holiday season. Resonant of the festive spirit and incorporating a seasonal ingredient, recreate the recipe at home.
3 + ¾ cup diced apples ¾ cup water 1 tablespoon honey 2 + ¼ tablespoon gelatin powder
Cook the apples with water over low heat in a saucepan until they turn mushy; cool completely before blending into a smooth paste.
Add the honey before transferring it to the stand mixer and adding in the gelatin powder.
Mix at high speed for 10-12 minutes until it turns glossy and almost white in colour.
Pour into a baking tray dusted generously with powdered sugar and let it sit in the refrigerator for 12-14 hours.
Cut into squares and store in an air-tight jar for up to two weeks.
