Saag is a traditional Indian dish that is primarily made with green leafy vegetables. Filled with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, it is a must-add to your daily diet. Here are some lesser-known varieties that you can try.
Made from mustard leaves, sarson ka saag is one of the most popular saag types and is enjoyed with makki ki roti.
Palak or spinach saag is too a delectable dish that is made across the country. Rich in iron and vitamins, palak ka saag can be enjoyed with naan, roti, or rice.
Methi, or fenugreek leaves, are also used to prepare an iron-rich dish, methi ka saag.
If you usually make arbi, don’t throw away its leaves. They can be used to make arbi ka saag with ginger, garlic, and a blend of spices.
Chaulai ka saag, made with amaranth leaves, is a nutritious dish that has a slightly sweet profile.
South Indian Sahjan ka saag features drumstick leaves that have a bitter taste, but its flavour is enhanced by mixing it with other leafy vegetables.
