Thick, fluffy and delicious pancakes are simply a matter of following a few steps to combine dry and wet ingredients before assembling a breakfast that is diner-style, at home. These griddled flat cakes are extremely versatile and can be paired with any number of toppings or accompaniments.
1.5 cups all-purpose flour 1 + ¼ cups milk 3.5 teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 1 large egg 3 tablespoons melted butter 1 pinch salt
Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl while whisking together the egg and milk separately.
Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and fold to combine into a thick, slightly lumpy batter.
Add the melted butter to the batter and mix well before adding a ladleful on a hot griddle to cook for 3 minutes per side.
Serve warm with maple syrup or honey, fruits and whipped cream.
