Lohri celebrations are incomplete without til. Be it til ke ladoo or gajak, til-based sweets are an essential part of the spread. This Lohri, why don’t you make the til gajak at home with this step-wise guide?
1 cup white sesame seeds (til) ¾ cup grated gud 1 tsp ghee 2 tbsp chopped peanuts (optional) A pinch of cardamom powder
Dry roast sesame seeds till golden. Set aside.
Melt the grated gud in ghee. Keep stirring till you get a smooth jaggery syrup.
Add cardamom powder and roasted til to the syrup, and mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased tray, top it with a greased sheet, and roll it out.
Cut the gajak into squares while the mixture is warm.
Let it cool to become crispy, and add the traditional treat to your Lohri spread.
