Like Tofu? Make It At Home With Chickpeas In 6 Steps

Tofu is a plant-based source of protein and an excellent replacement for paneer for those struggling with lactose intolerance. It can be grilled and added to salads, curries, sandwiches, and snacks. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients

400ml water 200 gms of dried chickpeas 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp ground cumin ¼ tsp pepper ¼ tsp sea salt 1 tsp turmeric powder

Step 1

Soak chickpeas for at least 16 hours in water and blend them with 400ml of water.

Step 2

Strain the mixture through a sieve. Use a spatula to push it down the minute holes.

Step 3

Pour the concoction into a hot pan and bring it to a boil.

Step 4

It will start thickening into a dense paste in 5-6 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer this thick paste into a glass and let it sit for 8 hours.

Step 6

Tofu is ready and you can use it in the kitchen how you like it.
