Like Malai Kulfi? Here Is How You Can Make It At Home

Kulfi is an Indian frozen dessert prepared with milk and nuts. It is a slightly healthier version of ice cream. Available in various flavours, malai kulfi is one of the most buttery and popular desi desserts. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

¼ tsp cardamom powder 1 litre full-fat milk A pinch of saffron ⅓ cup sugar 10 cashews 12 pistachios 4-5 almonds ½ cup whipping cream 2 tsp rose water

Step 1

Heat the milk in a heavy-bottomed kadhai on a low flame. Stir it when it comes to a boil.

Step 2

Cook the milk until it reduces to 1/3rd of the volume, and keep adding the scrapped solids to it.

Step 3

Add sugar and stir to dissolve it. Now add saffron, sliced and crushed dry fruits, and cream.

Step 4

Bring the blend to a boil and switch off the flame. Add kewra water and let the concoction cool off.

Step 5

Store the malai kulfi blend in a box with a lid on the top. Refrigerate overnight.

Step 6

Enjoy malai kulfi with more dry fruits on the top.
