Lemon posset is a classic British dessert renowned for its rich and creamy texture. Made with just three or four of the simplest ingredients, this silky, dense panna cotta-like summer dessert amuses all dessert lovers. Here’s the lemon posset recipe to follow.
2.5 cups heavy whipping cream ¾ cup caster sugar 6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice Zest of 1-2 lemons
Gently heat the heavy cream and sugar in a medium saucepan until the sugar dissolves completely. Turn down the heat to reduce the mixture.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the lemon juice and zest. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes.
Strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to get rid of the zest or any lump.
Pour them into 4-6 halved lemon shells or bowls and refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours before serving them chilled.
