Learn How To Make Konkan-Style Dahi Bhindi For Lunch This Week

This dahi bhindi is very simple to make and delicious to eat. With okra and yoghurt, this recipe can be prepared within minutes.

Ingredients

12 to 15 okras or bhindi 2 green chillies 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon oil ½ tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp urad dal 1 dry red chilli 6 to 8 curry leaves 1 ½ cups thick yoghurt or dahi

Step 1

Wash and pat dry the bhindi (okra). Trim the ends. Cut them into 1 cm thick pieces.

Step 2

In a pan, add oil, chopped bhindi, and green chillies, and sauté on medium to medium-high flame, uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes.

Step 3

To prepare the tempering, in a small pan, heat a tablespoon of oil, add mustard seeds, add urad dal, curry leaves, and red chillies, and sauté.

Step 4

Switch off the flame. In a bowl, add yoghurt or curds and whisk them for a minute

Step 5

If it is too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water and adjust the consistency

Step 6

Add salt to taste, sauteed bhindi, the tempering prepared earlier, and mix well. Serve immediately and enjoy!
