Lauki, also known as bottle gourd, might not be your favourite vegetable, but wait till you try this recipe. Lauki incorporated into mouth-melting koftas, this North Indian sabzi is perfect for picky eaters.
1 lauki or bottle gourd 1/2 cup besan Oil for frying 1/2 cup water 1 onion 2 tomatoes 1 ginger 4 cloves of garlic 1 teaspoon chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala 1 chopped green chilli Salt to taste
Start by grating lauki to make the koftas.
Mix grated lauki with besan and all the spices to make a batter.
Take small balls and deep fry them to make koftas, and set them aside.
Make the gravy by cooking chopped onions, cloves, ginger, and garlic.
Add chopped tomatoes, spices, and a little water. Let the gravy simmer.
Add in fried koftas and cook for 15-20 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
