Weekday dinners and lunches have to be quick because people don’t have time to spend hours cooking a feast. What about a bowl of dal khichdi? It has protein and many other essential nutrients for the body. Check out the recipe.
½ cup rice 1 cup moong dal 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp ghee Water, salt as needed ½ tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp turmeric powder A pinch of asafoetida
Soak rice and lentils in water for at least half an hour.
Heat a tablespoon of ghee in a pressure cooker and fold in soaked rice and lentils.
Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder. Cook the ingredients for 2-3 whistles.
Heat oil in a ladle and add cumin seeds to it.
Add red chilli powder and hing to the ladle as well.
Temper the khichdi and serve it with raita, papad, and lemon pickles.
