Kerala-style rasam is a tangy preparation that pairs with rice and transforms a simple meal into a comforting delight. Day or night, you can relish the deadly combination that promises food coma and satisfied taste buds. Try this recipe.
1/2 tsp mustard seeds, turmeric 1/2 tbsp melted ghee 1 tsp pepper 3 cups water 5-6 curry leaves salt to taste 1 tsp coriander, red chilli 3 crushed garlic 2 tbsp chopped coriander 2 tsp tamarind paste 2 tomatoes 1/4 tsp hing 1 tsp cumin seeds
Heat ghee in a pan and saute cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and hing.
Add crushed garlic and chopped tomatoes. Season the blend with salt and mix.
Once tomatoes are mushy, add powdered spices.
As soon as the blend releases oil, add water and tamarind paste.
Add more water and coriander leaves once the blend comes to a boil.
After one more boil, turn off the flame and serve with rice.
