Achappam is a deep-fried snack quite popular in Kerala and neighbouring states. The rose-shaped sugary delight complements evening tea and coffee making it your never-forget travel partner as well.
½ cup sugar 1 cup rice flour 1 cup coconut milk ¼ cup maida Oil for deep-frying 1 tsp sesame seeds
Mix rice flour, maida, sesame seeds, and sugar in a bowl.
Add coconut milk and stir the ingredients into a smooth paste.
Heat the oil for deep-frying and place the murukku maker in it.
Once it is hot enough, dip it in the batter.
Place the tool again in oil, and soon you will have rose-shaped achappams.
Keep them aside to cool off before storing them in an airtight container.
