Feniya is a light and sweet traditional dish enjoyed during Karwa Chauth, especially as part of the pre-dawn sargi. It’s made with fine vermicelli, milk, and sugar for a delicate, festive flavour.
1 cup feniya (thin roasted vermicelli) 2 cups milk 3 tbsp sugar ¼ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped dry fruits A few saffron strands (optional)
Boil milk in a pan, then add sugar, cardamom, and saffron.
Add feniya and cook on low heat until soft and creamy.
Stir occasionally to avoid sticking and cook for 4–5 minutes.
Garnish with dry fruits and serve warm as part of sargi.
