4 garlic cloves 1-inch ginger 2 red chillies 4 bitter gourds Salt to taste 4 cups of water ¼ tsp turmeric, pepper 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp red chilli powder 1 tbsp coriander leaves 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 sliced onions ¼ tsp garam masala, amchur 1 tbsp mustard oil
Wash the bitter gourd and slice it into round discs. Deseed them.
Soak the karela rings in water and salt solution for a couple of hours.
Drain the excess water and heat oil in a kadhai.
Add cumin seeds and pounded ginger, garlic, and red chilli paste.
Sauté onions until they are translucent, and add karela and powdered spices.
Once cooked, garnish the dish with coriander leaves and serve it with masala paratha.
