Jeedipappu upma is a delicious South Indian breakfast dish that is made with semolina and cashew nuts. It’s a flavourful and healthy option with enhanced spices. Here’s how to make it:
1 cup semolina 10-15 cashews 2 tbsp oil or ghee 1 tsp mustard seeds 2 chopped green chillies 8-10 curry leaves 1 chopped onion 2½ cups water Salt, to taste Coriander leaves, for garnish
Dry roast the semolina until it turns golden, then set it aside.
Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, add chillies, curry leaves, onions and saute.
Add cashews and fry until they turn golden.
Add water and salt, let it heat until the water starts boiling.
Gradually add roasted semolina, stirring to prevent lumps.
Cover, cook until the water is absorbed, then add coriander leaves and serve.
