There are many floral teas to brew in spring, but jasmine tea stands out because of its aroma rather than appearance or novelty. Traditionally, tea leaves are layered with jasmine flowers so the fragrance can infuse naturally over time. Its long presence in tea culture gives it credibility beyond trends, which explains why it remains a preferred choice even as newer flower teas gain attention.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon jasmine tea leaves or dried jasmine flowers 250 ml hot water (not boiling) Honey or sugar, optional

Step 1

Heat the water until hot but not boiling, as very high heat can dull the floral aroma.

Step 2

Place the jasmine tea leaves or dried flowers in a teacup or teapot.

Step 3

Pour the hot water over the tea and cover it briefly to trap the fragrance.

Step 4

Steep for 2–3 minutes, then strain to keep the flavour light and balanced.

Step 5

Add honey or sugar if needed, then serve warm.
