This eggless mawa cake offers a dense, aromatic crumb scented with cardamom and nutmeg, mimicking the iconic flavors of festive offerings. Ingredients

1.5 cups plain flour  100g mawa (evaporated milk solids), crumbled  1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened  1/2 cup condensed milk  3 tablespoons pure honey  1/2 cup milk  1 teaspoon baking powder  1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder  1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder  1/2 cup fresh white butter (makhan) and 2 tablespoons honey whisked together for frosting

Step 1

Cream the softened unsalted butter, crumbled mawa, condensed milk, and pure honey in a bowl until light and uniform.

Step 2

Sift in the plain flour, baking powder, cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder, alternating with the milk to form a thick batter.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into a greased cake tin and bake at 180C for thirty-five minutes until golden brown, then let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 4

Spread the whisked white butter and honey frosting over the top of the cooled cake before slicing and serving.
