Jamun season arrives for a very short span, which makes it the best time to enjoy this naturally vibrant fruit to its full extent. This healthy jamun shake blends fresh jamun, curd, and milk to make a creamy drink that feels refreshing and is also perfect for hot, humid days.
2 cups fresh jamun, deseeded 1 cup chilled curd ½ cup chilled milk 1 tbsp honey (optional) ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder ¼ tsp black salt 5–6 ice cubes 5–6 mint leaves (optional)
Wash the jamuns nicely and remove their seeds. Use fully ripe ones to give the shake a naturally sweet taste without having to use extra sweetener.
In a blender, add the jamun pulp, chilled curd, milk, honey, cumin powder, and black salt. Blend everything until you get a smooth and creamy drink without any fruit pieces.
If the shake feels a bit too thick, add a little extra chilled milk and then blend again for a short span until you get a smooth, drinkable consistency.
To the blender, add ice cubes and mint leaves, then blend again for 15–20 seconds.
Pour the prepared jamun shake into chilled glasses and garnish with a few fresh jamun pieces or mint leaves from the top.
