Instant Suji Vegetable Idli To Quickly Whip Up A South Indian Meal

Cut down the fermentation time and increase the nutritional value of your idlis with this suji vegetable idli recipe. Made with semolina, curd, and assorted vegetables, whip up fluffy idlis in no time.

Ingredients

1 cup suji 1 cup curd 1 cup mixed veggies (carrot, onion, beans, peas, etc.) 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 green chilli 1 teaspoon oil 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Step 1

Heat a pan and roast suji for 2-3 minutes.

Step 2

Mix the roasted suji with curd, water, and all the spices till you get a smooth batter.

Step 3

Just before steaming, mix in baking soda.

Step 4

Grease the idli moulds, pour the batter, and steam to perfection.

Step 5

In about 10 minutes, your instant vegetable idlis will be ready to serve.
