Instant Suji Idli: No-Ferment South Indian Breakfast Ready In Minutes

If you love to have idlis for breakfast, but don’t have the time to soak the rice and dal and let the batter ferment, this recipe is just for you. With suji, you can make idlis instantly and enjoy a healthy meal.

Ingredients

1 cup suji 1 cup curd 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 green chilli 1 teaspoon oil 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Step 1

Heat a pan and roast suji for 2-3 minutes.

Step 2

Mix the roasted suji with curd, water, and all the spices till you get a smooth batter.

Step 3

Just before steaming, mix in baking soda.

Step 4

Grease the idli moulds, pour the batter, and steam to perfection.

Step 5

In about 10 minutes, your instant suji idlis will be ready to serve.
