From idlis to dosas, most South Indian recipes require a fermentation time. To quickly whip up a healthy breakfast, you can make rava upma instantly. Follow this step-by-step recipe and make upma at home.

Dry roast the suji for about three to four minutes and set it aside.
Heat ghee and cook mustard seeds till they splutter. Add urad dal and chana dal and fry till golden brown.
Add chopped cashew nuts, curry leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger and saute.
Mix in chopped onions and cook till soft. Then, add water and salt and let it boil.
Turn the heat to low and keep stirring till the suji absorbs most of the water.
Once the upma is of the desired consistency, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
