South Indian dishes like idli, dosa, and upma are the healthiest breakfast options, but they usually take time to make. For an instant breakfast, you can make rava upma with this step-wise recipe.
1 cup suji 3 cups water 1/2 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon urad dal 1 teaspoon chana dal 10-12 cashew nuts 1 onion 1 green chilli 1 teaspoon grated ginger 8-10 curry leaves Salt to taste Coriander leaves for garnishing
Dry roast the suji for about three to four minutes and set it aside.
Take some ghee, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add urad dal and chana dal and fry.
Add chopped cashews, curry leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger, and saute them.
Mix in chopped onions. Add water and salt and stir till the suji absorbs water.
Once the rava upma is of the desired consistency, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
