Idli Chaat: Try This Fusion Recipe With The South Indian Staple

Idli chaat is an impeccable fusion of South India’s speciality, idli and North India’s finger-licking chaat. Whether you have some leftover idlis or want to make a chapata snack, try this easy recipe.

Ingredients

8 steamed idlis 1/2 cup curd 1/4 cup chopped onions 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro Tamarind chutney, as required Green chutney, as required 1 tablespoon sev 1 tablespoon oil 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1

Cut the steamed idlis into 5-6 pieces. Shallow fry the idlis till crispy.

Step 2

Prepare the chaat mixture by adding the chopped idlis to the curd.

Step 3

Coat the idlis well, and then add chopped onions and cilantro.

Step 4

Add tamarind and green chutney and mix well.

Step 5

Sprinkle chaat masala, salt, and pepper to taste. Garnish with sev and serve.
