Idiyappam is a classic South Indian dish featuring noodle-like strings made with rice flour. Usually served with coconut chutney, vegetable kurma, or a bowl of sambar, here’s how you can make idiyappam.
2 cups rice flour 1 cup hot water 1/4 teaspoon salt Coconut milk gravy
Mix rice flour, salt, and hot water. Stir to make a soft dough.
Take a small portion of the dough and stuff it into the cylindrical holes of the idiyappam pot.
Press the dough down firmly to ensure it fills the holes evenly.
Boil some water and place the idiyappam pot over it. Steam till it is fluffy.
Remove the pot from the steamer and unmold the noodles. Serve with coconut milk gravy.
