The idea of naan pizza or ‘naaniza’ may come across as a shocker to you, but the trend has been around since 2016. Here is a detailed recipe for chicken tikka naan pizza.
2 chicken breasts, roughly chopped 3 tbsp Greek yoghurt 2 tbsp water Tikka masala spice mix, as needed 150g self-raising flour 150g fat-free Greek yoghurt 1 tso black onion seeds 200g tomato passata 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp granulated sugar 1 green pepper, sliced ½ tsp turmeric powder 2 tbsp amchur powder 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder Handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped
In a mixing bowl, add water, yoghurt and chopped chicken. Mix well and cover it. Rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
When it's time to cook the chicken tikka, you may either skewer it and grill it over high heat.
Cook until it has a faint char, or you can air-fry it for 12 to 14 minutes at 200 °C.
In a bowl, combine the self-raising flour, Greek yoghurt, and onion seeds until a dough forms.
Cover and let it sit at room temperature for ½ hour. Tear the dough into 2 equal-sized balls.
Roll each ball out on a flat surface. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Bake the pizza bases for 12 mins.
Combine the tomato passata, garam masala, kasuri methi, salt, pepper, and sugar to make your pizza sauce. Cut up your coriander, onion, and pepper.
Add the tomato pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, red onion, pepper, and chicken tikka in that order.
Put it back in the oven at 180 °C and bake for 14-20 mins. Garnish and serve!
