A Bengali traditional sweet, rajbhog is a dessert that contains cooked rice, ghee, and sugar. It is a rich and creamy dessert that is often served during festivals and special occasions in the winter months. This is a quick and easy recipe to make rajbhog, straight from a Bengali kitchen.
1 cup of cooked rice 4 cups of milk 1 cup of sugar 4 tablespoons of ghee ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder Nuts for garnish, as per taste
Wash and soak the fragrant rice for half an hour.
Pour the soaked rice into a heavy-bottomed pan with boiling milk.
Cook until the rice is tender. Stir from time to time.
Add in the cardamom powder, sugar and butter. Cook until the mixture becomes thick.
Serve the rajbhog hot. Garnish with crushed nuts if needed.
