Poached eggs are a simple but technically delicate art of cooking them until just right and delicate, to complement an assortment of dishes. Follow this compact guide that is beginner-friendly to make yourself the perfectly poached egg.
2 eggs
Bring a wide and shallow pot of water to a simmer and reduce the heat until it is gently quivering on the surface.
Crack open an egg into a fine mesh strainer and shake gently to rid it of any loose or watery bits.
Tilt the strainer sideways into the water gently and swirl gently with a wooden spoon for 10 seconds.
Use a slotted spoon to retrieve the cooked egg and place it on to a cool plate before repeating the process.
Season with salt and use as required.
