Vada pav in the lanes of Mumbai is much more than a street food, it’s a feeling. Made with a spicy aloo vada placed between buttery pavs with chutney and chilli, make Mumbai-style vada pav at home.
3 potatoes 1/2 cup besan 1 teaspoon chopped green chilli 1 teaspoon chopped ginger 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder A pinch of hing Salt to taste Oil for frying Coriander chutney as per taste Tamarind chutney as per taste 1 packet of pav
Heat some oil and saute cumin seeds, hing, chopped ginger, and green chilli.
Add mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook till you get a fragrant mixture.
Make the batter by mixing besan, salt, turmeric powder, and water.
Take small portions of the filling mixture, coat them with the batter and deep fry till crispy.
Take the pav, slit them and spread coriander and tamarind chutney on each side.
Finally, add the fried vada to the pav and enjoy it hot.
