These sushi tacos are made with tempura-fried nori shells that provide a pleasant crunch, wrapped around a spicy, flavourful centre.
4 nori sheets ½ packet tempura mix ¾ cup sushi rice, cooked 1 Persian cucumber, thinly sliced Chillies, optional Cilantro, optional 140g of tuna or salmon 2 tsbp mayo 3 tsp sriracha 3 tsp sesame seeds 8 kani sticks Soy sauce, as needed
Pour about 2 inches of oil into a broad, deep pan and heat over medium heat.
Prepare 1⁄2 a packet of tempura mix in a bowl, following the instructions. Lay one sheet of nori on top of the tempura mixture.
Turn it over to coat the other side. Immerse the coated nori in the heated oil right away, carefully.
Cook for 45-50 seconds. Remove and bend into a taco shape. Shred the kani sticks and place them in a bowl.
Mix with mayo, sriracha, and an optional splash of soy sauce. Toss to cover, then sprinkle liberally with sesame seeds.
Combine with mayonnaise, Sriracha, and an optional dash of soy sauce. Toss until coated, then generously sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Mince the tuna or salmon in a bowl with mayo and sriracha. Place a spoonful of sushi rice, cucumbers, and your preferred quantity of spicy kani, tuna, or salmon.
Garnish with cilantro leaves, chillies, sesame seeds, and other toppings as desired!
