From devouring chocolate-covered strawberries to spreading the sweet jam on your bread, the fruit deserves all the attention. To eliminate the preservatives, why don’t you make strawberry jam at home?
4 cups strawberries 2 cups powdered sugar 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Take the fresh strawberries, wash and dry them. Remove their leaves and chop.
Cook the strawberries on a low flame and mix them with powdered sugar.
Add lemon juice and let the mixture simmer till the berries soften and the jam is thickened.
Check the temperature; the jam should be done once it reaches around 100°C.
Fill and store the jam in air-tight containers.
You enjoy it for three weeks, and if canned properly, the jam can even last a year.
