Complementing the Ashtami trio - puri, chane, and halwa, rice kheer is often served for Kanjak Puja. To make rice kheer this Navratri, here’s a step-by-step recipe guide to make it at home.
1 cup rice 3 cups milk 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup chopped almonds 1/4 cup chopped pistachios 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 1 tablespoon ghee
Mix rinsed rice and milk and boil it. Let the mixture simmer till the rice is soft.
Stir in the sugar and cardamom powder. Cook till the milk thickens.
Mix in chopped almonds and pistachios. Drizzle some ghee on the top.
Let the rice kheer cool and add it to the Ashtami thali.
