The crunchy onion rings are the perfect snack to munch on an evening, pair with cocktails, or serve at a house party. To make the onion rings healthier, you can air fry instead of deep-frying.
1 large onion 1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup chickpea flour 1 cup breadcrumbs 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 cup cornstarch 1/2 cup water Salt and pepper to taste
Slice a large onion into thick rings and carefully separate them.
Mix all-purpose flour, besan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Make a smooth batter with cornstarch and water.
Coat each onion ring with the dry mixture, then dip it in the batter and coat in breadcrumbs.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Air fry the onion rings in batches for ten minutes on each side.
Let the onion rings cool down slightly before serving. Pair with a dip and enjoy.
