Give your classic dal-and-rice-based khichdi a healthier twist with oats khichdi. With less cooking time and fewer ingredients, try this one-pot meal for a quick, healthy lunch or dinner. Serve with dahi and salad, and make your plate nutritionally balanced.
1 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 medium onion 1 green chilli 1 inch of ginger 1 tomato 1/2 cup moong dal 1 cup rolled oats 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste 4 cups water Coriander leaves for garnish
Heat some ghee in a cooker. Sauté cumin seeds, chopped onion and green chilli.
Stir in grated ginger and chopped tomato. Add moong dal, haldi, red chilli powder, and salt.
Mix in the rolled oats. Stir well. Pour in the water and cook for 3 whistles.
Once done, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with dahi and achar.
