How To Make Oats Idli: Have A Healthy South Indian Breakfast In Just 5 Steps

Give your regular rice-based idlis a spin and use rolled oats. Rich in fibre, oats idlis are a low-calorie breakfast or snacking option that can be made with minimal soaking and fermentation time.

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup semolina 1/4 cup urad dal 1/4 cup poha 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds 1/4 cup coriander leaves 1 green chilli 1 inch of ginger Salt to taste Water as required

Step 1

Mix and soak rolled oats, semolina, urad dal, poha, and fenugreek seeds for a few hours.

Step 2

Drain and grind the mixture into a smooth batter.

Step 3

Add chopped salt, coriander leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger. Let it ferment.

Step 4

Grease the idli moulds and pour in the fermented batter. Steam for 10-12 minutes.

Step 5

Remove the idlis from the moulds and serve with sambar and coconut chutney.
