How To Make Nourishing Punjabi Pinni For Winter In 7 Steps To Boost Your Immunity

We wait all year for the tasty and nourishing foods that winter produce delivers. Let's not forget the comforting pinni, which is available year-round but especially during the winter. In India, pinni is mostly prepared in the northern regions to boost immunity and withstand the hard winter conditions.

Ingredients

¾ cups of urad dal 1 cup of ghee ¼ cup of semolina ¾ cups of mawa 10-20 cashews 10-20 almonds 2 tablespoons of edible gum 300 grams of sugar 2 teaspoons of cardamom powder

Step 1

Soak the urad dal in water for 1-2 hours. Grind it into a paste. Set it aside.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, add the urad dal paste and the semolina. Mix it into one.

Step 3

In a pan, heat some ghee. Roast the urad dal and semolina paste. Let it turn golden brown.

Step 4

Remove and set it aside. In the same pan, roast the mawa until it is lightly browned.

Step 5

Roast the dry fruits in the pan. Set it aside. In the same pan, add sugar and make a syrup.

Step 6

Add all the mixtures to the sugar syrup. Add the ghee, mawa and cardamom powder. Let it all cool down.

Step 7

Spread it out on a tray or plate. Cut into square pieces. Garnish with dry fruits.
