Butter naan, garlic naan, lachcha paratha, and many more Indian flatbreads are made in a tandoor. But can you make it at home without a tandoor? Yes, follow these steps to make naan in a pressure cooker.
2 cups maida ½ cup curd 1 tsp sugar ½ tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder ¼ tsp baking soda 2 tbsp ghee Warm water (as needed) Melted butter or ghee (for brushing) Nigella seeds (kalonji) Fresh cilantro (for garnishing)
Mix maida, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add curd and ghee, and knead a dough with warm water. Let it rest.
Take a pressure cooker and remove its whistle and gasket. Place it upside down and heat for 5-7 minutes.
Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into naans. Brush water on one side.
Stick the wet sides of the naan to the cooker wall. Close the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Once browned, remove the naan, brush with butter, and serve hot.
