The layered Italian staple, lasagna, is a hit across the globe. To make lasagna just like your favourite Italian cafe makes it, here’s a recipe. Follow these 6 steps and whip up a creamy Italian meal.
For Meat Sauce: 1 tablespoon olive oil ½ pound of meat ½ cup chopped onion 2 cloves of garlic 1 can crushed tomatoes 250 ml tomato sauce ½ teaspoon dried oregano ¼ teaspoon dried basil Salt and pepper to taste
For The Filling: 500-gram ricotta cheese 1 egg ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 box lasagna noodles 250 grams of shredded mozzarella cheese
Heat olive oil and cook the ground meat of your choice. Add onion and garlic.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
Simmer till the sauce cooks, and combine ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese.
Boil the lasagna noodles till soft and preheat the oven.
Take a baking tray and spread a layer of meat sauce. Top with a layer of lasagna noodles and then the cheese mixture.
Cover the lasagna with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Let the cheese set, and then serve.
