Made with dalia, ghee, and gud, lapsi is a traditional Gujarati prasad prepared for festivals, poojas, and special occasions. Here’s an authentic lapsi recipe to make the sweet in under 30 minutes.
1 cup dalia 3 tablespoons ghee 3 cups water 1 cup jaggery 0.5 teaspoons cardamom powder Chopped cashews and almonds 1 tablespoon raisins 1 pinch saffron
Heat some ghee and roast the dalia till aromatic.
Pour in water, cover the pan, and let the lapsi cook on low heat.
Add jaggery and let the mixture simmer for another few minutes.
Once the lapsi starts to thicken, stir in cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and saffron.
Garnish with almonds, cashews, and raisins before serving.
