How To Make Kolkata Style Fish Pakoras For Tea Time

A quick snack with your cup of tea or coffee sounds yummy, doesn't it? Try making fish pakoras that are tender and crispy by following this recipe!

Ingredients

500g tilapia or cod fish 5 tbsp gram flour 2 tbsp corn flour 1 tsp garlic paste 1 tsp green chilli paste ½ tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp carom seeds 1½ tsp salt 1 egg 2 tbsp lemon juice

Step 1

Cut the fish into big slices and pat dry. Set aside. In a bowl, add gram flour, corn flour, garlic paste and green chilli paste.

Step 2

Add in salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and carom seeds.

Step 3

Add the lemon juice and mix everything by hand. Add the egg and stir thoroughly. Set aside for ten minutes.

Step 4

Heat the frying oil in a big saucepan or wok until it is hot. Add fish pakoras at a time, according to their size, to the mixture.

Step 5

Deep fry for 5 to 7 minutes at medium-high heat or until golden brown. Remove to a platter lined with kitchen towels.

Step 6

Once the oil is soaked, serve with your choice of dips and sauces along with tea and coffee!
