How To Make Karnataka-Style Chicken Ghee Roast Using A Frying Pan For Dinner

Chicken ghee roast is a blend of fiery spices, tender chicken, and aromatic ghee, making it an irresistible treat. You can quickly whip up this delectable dish in your kitchen's comfort using a frying pan.

Ingredients

500gm chicken 3-4 tbsps ghee 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 sprig of curry leaves 1 large onion, finely chopped 6-7, garlic, finely chopped 1-inch ginger, finely chopped 2 medium tomatoes,  finely chopped ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp garam masala powder Salt, to taste 1 tsp lemon juice

Step 1

Cut chicken into small, bite-sized chunks. Heat the ghee in a frying pan. Add the cumin seeds and curry leaves once the ghee melts.

Step 2

Once the cumin seeds crackle, add the chopped onions and saute them until golden brown.

Step 3

Add the diced garlic and ginger and fry for a few minutes until they are aromatic. Sauté the diced tomatoes until they're mashed properly.

Step 4

Add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and turmeric powder to the pan. Simmer for a short period.

Step 5

Cover and cook the chicken for 10 to 15 minutes at medium heat. Add lemon juice to the pan and stir thoroughly.

Step 6

Lastly, stir in ghee in the pan. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
