Low in calories and fat, it helps to cure colds and sore throats. It tastes like a hug when you’re battling a flu or a sore throat, no matter the weather!
4 drumsticks, washed and chopped 1 tbsp toor dal 1 medium-sized onion, sliced 3 garlic cloves 1 small tomato, sliced ½ tsp pepper powder 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp coriander leaves 1 tbsp cooking 1 bay leaf 1-inch cinnamon stick 2 cloves
Place the drumstick pieces in a pot with 4 cups of water and pressure cook them.
Strain the water and keep it aside for later use. Take each cooked drumstick and remove the pulp with a spoon. Set aside.
Also, pressure cook the toor dal separately. Heat a pan and add oil or butter. Sauté the seasoned ingredients for a minute.
Add finely sliced onions and garlic, along with a bit of salt, and cook them until the onions are translucent.
Add the chopped tomato and peppercorns to the onions and sauté until the tomatoes are soft.
After cooking the tomatoes, toss in the mashed dal. Add the drumstick water to the pan and bring the soup to a gentle boil.
Add half of the drumstick pulp, leaving the rest aside. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.
Cool before blending it into a smooth, transparent soup and pouring it into a pan. Simmer for 10 mins. Serve!
