How To Make Dalia Khichdi? One-Pot Meal Ready In 5 Steps

Dalia khichdi is a lighter version of the traditional rice-based khichdi. Rich in protein and fibre, you can make the one-pot meal in half an hour. Perfect for busy weekdays, try this easy dalia khichdi recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup dalia 1 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 medium onion 1 green chilli 1 inch ginger 1 tomato 1/2 cup moong dal 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste 4 cups water Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Step 1

Heat some ghee in a pressure cooker. Saute cumin seeds, chopped onion and green chilli.

Step 2

Stir in grated ginger and chopped tomato. Add moong dal, haldi, red chilli powder, and salt.

Step 3

Mix in the dalia. Stir well. Pour in the water and cook for 3 whistles.

Step 4

Once done, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with dahi and achar.
