Dal dhokli is a traditional Gujarati dish made with lentils, dumplings, and besan. Whether you want a savoury sabzi for lunch or dinner, you can easily make dal dhokli with this step-by-step recipe.

Ingredients

For Dal: 2 cups Toor dal 3 cups water 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste For The Dhokli: 1 cup besan Water Salt to taste

Step 1

Rinse and soak toor dal for at least half an hour.

Step 2

Add soaked dal, water, and all the spices in a pressure cooker. Cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

Prepare dhokli by kneading a dough with besan, water, and salt.

Step 4

Make small balls and roll them into ropes. Cut the ropes into pieces and add to the cooked dal.

Step 5

Let the dal simmer for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
