Palak Paneer is a creamy, flavourful curry made with spinach and cottage cheese. Packed with protein, iron, and vitamins, it’s a wholesome dish perfect for lunch or dinner, best paired with roti, naan, or rice.
250 g cubed paneer 250 g palak leaves 2 tbsp butter or ghee 1 finely chopped onion 2 pureed tomatoes 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 2 green chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder 2 tbsp fresh cream Salt to taste
Blanch spinach in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to cold water and blend into a smooth puree with green chillies.
Heat butter or ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, then sauté onions till golden.
Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
Stir in tomato puree, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and cook until the oil separates.
Add spinach puree, salt, and garam masala; cook for 5 minutes.
Gently add paneer cubes and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Finish with fresh cream and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
