While cold brew coffee is known to be the most popular caffeinated beverage, the underrated cold brew tea is a great option for those who prefer a lighter, dairy-free cup of iced chai. Milder in flavour with more aroma and less astringency, the drink can be served with or without a sweetener, along with a spritz of lemon juice.
1 tablespoon loose leaf tea OR 4 teabags 1 litre water 2 teaspoons honey (optional) ½ lemon wedge
Add the loose leaf tea or tea bags to a resealable container.
Pour the water on top and mix well to combine before closing the lid and resting it in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours.
Use a fine mesh strainer to extract the leaves or simply remove the tea bags.
Pour the brew over ice and mix with honey, if using and a spritz of fresh lemon juice.
