How To Make Chopsuey: Indo-Chinese Recipe For A Restaurant-Style Meal

Chopsuey is an Indo-Chinese staple made with fried noodles served in a tomato-based sauce. If chopsuey is your go-to dish at a Chinese restaurant, here’s how you can make it at home.

Ingredients

200 g Hakka noodles Oil for deep-frying ½ cup shredded cabbage, carrot and capsicum ½ tsp chopped ginger and garlic 3 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp vinegar ½ tbsp red chilli sauce 2 cups water 1 tsp sugar Salt to taste Spring onion for garnish

Step 1

Boil the noodles, drain them, and set aside. Deep-fry or air-fry the noodles till crunchy.

Step 2

Heat some oil and cook the onion, ginger and garlic. Add shredded veggies and cook till crispy.

Step 3

Take a bowl and mix soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, and sugar.

Step 4

Pour the sauces over the cooked vegetables and mix them together.

Step 5

Add some water and simmer until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.

Step 6

Add the fried noodles to the pan and mix well. Garnish with spring onion and serve hot.
