A common American and British breakfast dish known as hash browns, also written as hashed browns, is made of finely diced potatoes that are cooked till browned.
2 large russet potatoes, peeled 2 tbsp butter, melted ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp black pepper ¼ tsp garlic powder ¼ cup all-purpose flour Vegetable oil, for frying
Grate the peeled potatoes using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out moisture.
Transfer the squeezed potatoes to a large mixing bowl and add the melted butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and flour. Mix until well combined.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
Once the oil is hot, scoop the potato mixture into the skillet, pressing down gently to form patties.
Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the hash browns from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot and enjoy!
