Almond milk is one of the most popular dairy-free alternatives. While the store-bought versions have added sugars, stabilisers, and preservatives, here’s how you can make almond milk at home.
1 cup raw almonds 4 cups water 1-2 dates (optional) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) A pinch of salt
Soak the almonds in water overnight.
Rinse the soaked almonds and add them to a blender with 4 cups of water.
Blend until you get a smooth, creamy consistency. Strain the milk through a cheesecloth.
Stir in dates, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend again.
Pour the homemade almond milk into a bottle and refrigerate. Consume within 3-4 days.
